III. God's good hand will protect us from the bad and empower us to rise-up to build. (Nehemiah 2:17-20)
- We are moved to rise-up and build when a clear vision is before us and His hand is on us.
- God blocks out the bad element around us and among us when we rise-up to build.

- Jesus spent time teaching His apostles and others over a period of forty days after His resurrection.
- (Where is HE now?) Jesus' ascension was the inauguration of His eternal reign and heavenly ministry. (Acts 1:9-11)
- He ascended for His Coronation as King forever.
- His ascension was the beginning of His heavenly ministry.
- His second coming will establish His Kingdom on earth (and every- where else) as it is in heaven.

A. At His table in this world He is present with us.
B. At His table in the Kingdom of God we will be present with Him.

B. Christ's disciples have no permanent residence.
II. Following Jesus takes precedence over all family considerations.

A. Christ knows our present situation when He calls us.
B. His call to follow Him takes priority over all family obligations and traditions.
III. Following Jesus is disregarding all earthly distractions to focus totally on Him. (Luke 9:61-62)
A. Past connections can be distractions to following Him.
B. Distractions if not abandoned can divert a disciple from Christ's way.
